Unfortunately, in todays day and age, the word nuclear brings about images of death and destruction and mushroom clouds. However, nuclear energy is used today to power many cities. Nuclear energy can be harnessed and used as a weapon but it can also be used for peaceful means, as well. Thats why many cities and states power their homes and buildings with power provided by a nuclear energy power plant.

Isnt It Dangerous?

When people hear the term nuclear, they usually think of the Chernobyl accident or their minds wander towards one of several science fiction/horror movies dedicated to the subject. However, nuclear energy is a great way to power towns and cities, as no oil is used, no natural resources are used and the energy is there already, it may as well be utilized.

Unfortunately, many places around the world dont have nuclear plants, or are forbidden to, because of fear that once the power of nuclear energy is harnessed through peaceful means, it only takes one provocation of war for world war three to break out. Nuclear energy can indeed be used for violent means, very violent means to be exact, but is should only be used for peaceful means.

If every country used this type of energy to power their houses or buildings, they wouldnt have to rely on oil or other natural resources, that are often fought quite vigorously. Nuclear energy is the way of the future and you should contact your Congressman if you dont have a nuclear power plant in your area. You never know, you could potentially save a lot of people a lot of money and you could make that Congressman a hero, which means he or she would win re-election.

Nuclear energy does have its downsides, of course its very versatile as we all saw the capabilities of it when a bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. However, Since that time, no country has knowingly used nuclear energy as a weapon and it should stay that way. Nuclear energy should be used for peaceful means and nothing else.

You can write your congressman or you can even write the President of the United States if you want your town or house or building powered by nuclear energy. Much money would be saved to do the things that make life a little more enjoyable.
